Why HGG?

HGG is renowned for its expertise in manufacturing high-precision CNC pipe-cutting and beam-cutting machines and 3D profiling machinery specifically tailored for pipe, beam, square tube, and vessel cutting. Established originally as a pipe-cutting service company, HGG offers advanced CNC pipe-cutting solutions that are built by fabricators for fabricators. Their product line includes cutting-edge CNC plasma pipe cutters and vessel-cutting machines, robotic profiling systems, and advanced in-house software solutions, all designed to meet the rigorous demands of industries such as construction, shipbuilding, petroleum refining, process piping, and offshore engineering.

With a global presence and a reputation for heavy-built industrial-grade pipe-cutting machines and beam-cutting machines, HGG continues to lead the way in transforming plasma metal-cutting automation through its advancing technology and expertise.

What Makes a Great Pipe Cutting Machine?

1. Handling Out of Round Pipe

HGG has several clever ways of handing out of round pipe to ensure even, uniform and accurate cuts while maintaining best in class cut speeds. To start, HGG uses a chuck and a heavy duty chuck at that to handle heavy pipe that is out of round and will want to creep forward or backwards. The floating chuck design allows the chuck to communicate with the cutter head to make adjustments in real time. Next, is the pantograph cutting head which rides on rollers that roll over the pipe as it spins. This allows the cutting head to move up and down as the pipe pushes it up and down keeping a perfect torch height all the way around the pipe.

2. Handling Bowed Pipe

HGG has one very unique way of handling bowed pipe that is proprietary to the HGG design. That is independently raising and lowering "boagies" or rollers. This allows the operator to lower or raise any rollers he chooses. This allows him to lower all rollers except for those near the chuck and under the cutting head. This takes the push and pull created by a bowed piece of pipe out of the equation and keeps our cutting more accurate all the way throughout the cut which also speeds up our cutting time. This system also greatly reduces the stress that bowed pipe would normally have on the chuck, giving our chucks the longest service life in the industry.

3. Software

HGG develops their own software in-house and employs their own software engineers. HGG does not charge any ongoing subscription fees for the HGG software, once you buy it you own it for the life of the machine. This also means that your software will never become obsolete or no longer supported because the support is done in-house by HGG not a third party software provider. Of course if you so chose our machines are compatible with several softwares, including Pypeserver.

4. Build Quality

HGG began their journey in the pipe fabrication business themselves and specialized in ship building applications. This means that our machines are designed for pipe fabrication shops by a pipe fabrication shop and everything is built heavy duty and made to last many years. Since HGG began in the shipbuilding industry making large machines, they found through years of production the best ways to make machines very robust to withstand not only the abuse from heavy workpieces but also to withstand the elements of an open-air shop near the ocean. We invite our potential new clients to see our machines in the real world and talk to the owners of our machines. We think it will be easy to see and understand the engineering excellence and build quality behind these machines.
